What to expect at ferine fitness

Starting with a personal trainer can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never worked with one before (trust me, I know). You do not need to be fit, strong, flexible or have any gym experience to begin. My job is to meet you where you are and help you move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Before your initial consultation, I’ll send you a few forms to complete. These help me get to know you, understand your goals, and make sure your training is safe and tailored to your needs.

PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire)
A simple health questionnaire that helps identify any medical conditions or circumstances that may require clearance from your GP before starting an exercise programme.

Lifestyle Questionnaire
This helps me understand your daily life, current activity levels, sleep, stress, and fitness goals so I can better support you.

Hormone Questionnaire
Depending on your stage of life, this will focus on either pre/postnatal health or perimenopause and menopause. Completing this form is optional, but it helps me tailor your training to your individual needs.

Your first appointment will last around an hour. We’ll discuss your goals, training history and any concerns you may have. With your permission, I may take some baseline measurements and guide you through a simple movement assessment to look at balance, mobility, flexibility and general fitness.

We’ll finish with a short training session so you can get a feel for my coaching style and how we’ll work together moving forward.

There are no fitness tests to pass and no expectations to live up to. This first session is simply an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a plan that works for you.

“As soon as you feel too old to do a thing, do it.”
